Southern California for Spring Break is a no brainer! San Diego is by far one of the best Spring Break locations because of the variety of options such as ocean side or big city day and night events! The young and wild will be taking over Pacific Beach, the young professionals crowd will be near downtown, and families close on Coronado. There is something for everyone in San Diego!
Downtown San Diego is a great place to start your shopping exploration! Westfield Horton Plaza is right in downtown and the most perfect place to park! Right on G St. is the entrance to the underground parking lot, or just follow 3rd street till it dead ends into Horton Plaza and go straight into the lot. Take the elevators up to the open-aired shopping center and start you shopping spree! At the Plaza you will find national chains, fitness centers, salons, and more. After shopping the the Plaza drop your shopping bags off in the car and continue on to the streets of downtown San Diego. The Gas Lamp district has great restaurants and shops to pop into! Walk down 5th Ave. for more well known brand names but also some SD local boutiques! For a tasty treat to give the blood sugar a little kick, on Island and 6th Ave is Cute Cakes. Our favorite is the Neopolitan cupcake, but we will let you find your favorite flavor!
If you are looking for more beach-esque shopping, take a trip to La Jolla (la hoy-ya). Another great aspect of shopping in La Jolla beside the close proximity to the beach are all the local boutiques! This shopping district is by far the best spot to shop local! The main shopping is along Girard Ave. and the side streets but make sure to check out Prospect St. and Herschel Ave as well. Stop into Sigi's Boutique for a fancy date night outfit, and for a chic SoCal style wear check out RICA boutique. Left your bathing suite at home? No problem, Sauvage Swimwear has you covered! We recommend getting a take out lunch and heading to the La Jolla Cove to sit on the ocean cliffs to enjoy the sun and salty air!
Bargain Shopper? There are two outlet malls right next to each other on the boarder of Mexico. It is a bit of a drive but why not spend the morning shopping in California and spend the afternoon in Mexico's Tijuana, or TJ as the San Diegans call it. Las Americans and the Outlets at the Boarder feature big names like Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, True Religion, as well as athletics giant Nike. These two outlets centers are a bit out of the way but there is no better bargain shopping in San Diego then Las Americans and the Outlets at the Boarder.
